With years of experience in web development and UI/UX, I’ve had the opportunity to shape digital experiences for churches and organizations nationwide. I spent nearly five years as a UI/UX software engineer at Southeast Christian Church, one of the largest churches in the U.S., enhancing user experience, app performance, and design across their platforms. Later, I worked with 9 Embers, helping churches implement Rock RMS and create seamless digital ecosystems. Now, through Sideways, I continue to help faith-based organizations leverage technology to grow and connect. When I’m not coding, you’ll find me spending time with my family, playing competitive pinball (yes, I’m internationally ranked!), running, and exploring new places.

Founder

After years of leading web development and UI/UX projects for churches and organizations—ranging from multi-campus ministries to enterprise-level SaaS solutions—I saw the need for better digital experiences in the faith community. That’s why I started Sideways. From building platforms used by 120+ churches to redesigning websites, automating ministry tools, and optimizing mobile apps, Sideways helps churches and faith-based organizations harness technology to grow and engage their communities.

Led the architecture and redesign of critical customer-facing websites and mobile apps, focusing on seamless digital experiences. Key projects included introducing the ‘Compass Theme’ into the Rock Shop (serving 120+ churches), migrating legacy WordPress sites to Rock RMS, and creating workflows and automations to improve ministry tools. Developed custom dashboards using Chart JS, amCharts, SQL, and Lava. Additionally, improved user experience and consistency by integrating Light/Dark mode, content channels, and design elements to enhance branding.

UI/UX Software Engineer for a multi-campus church that averages 60k weekend attendees. I was responsible to coordinate with designers & developers, utilize the agile/scrum methodology, implement cutting edge designs, keep user experiences clean, optimize for mobile, implement BEM methodology, and ensure cross-browser compatibility. Used JIRA to keep track of projects, and Jenkins to facilitate continuous integrations and delivery.

Frontend Developer

Designed and developed a web-based project management and reporting SaaS (software as of service) platform to help small – medium sized companies manage their government contract business at the enterprise level. I was also responsible for wireframing over hundreds of pages (balsamiq) and flushing them out as approved.
